RIBA COMPETITION  |  A VISION OF THE FUTURE: HEATH PARK DESIGN COMPETITION

This was an open design competition run by RIBA, to re-imagine a 57 acre business and technical park as a model sustainable zero carbon community.

A Fusion of Technology, People, and Nature

Our proposal envisages a holistic approach to future sustainable community living, utilising technology to subtly enhance the health, well-being and happiness of its multi-generational inhabitants, while maintaining a strong connection to nature, and carefully considering its immediate and wider impact on the environment.

Designed around the courtyard concept, a cluster of eight pentagon-shaped courtyard buildings are arranged around two large hexagonal community spaces, and connected via a series of wide routes accessible only by pedestrians, bicycles, segways, mobility scooters, etc. and small autonomous electric delivery vehicles. Private and public electric transport is restricted to the edges of the community, and green spaces take precedence within the scheme.
